It was over a year ago when I rejoiced over the fact that Vienna got a frozen yogurt shop. If you recall, this was no chance turn of events. Something cosmic, rather, with stars aligning and a pinch of fairy dust or two. I mean, it’s not every day that one of the treats you miss most from your hometown just suddenly shows up in the city you’re living in on the other side of the world and that one of the owners of the shop with said treat just so happens to be from your hometown. Oder?

Well, the stars and the fairies have been hard at work, because this same situation has happened again! The Juice Factory, located in the 1st, is a new arrival that has come to Vienna thanks in part to one of its owners, a young woman who—though Austrian—grew up in sunny San Diego, California. Totally verrückt, I tell you.

The Juice Factory has opened at just the most perfect time—right when everyone is either fighting their first cold of the season or doing their best to avoid having to do so. What better place to head to in times like these than a juice bar serving up an incredible array of delicious drinks, all of which are packed with superfoods? Places like these with fresh juices and smoothies are found everywhere in Southern California. I’m so happy one has found its way to Wien.

I found my way there recently when taking an out-of-town friend on a wander around town. Having come down with a bit of a bug myself, I was hoping an extra serving of fruit and veggies would do me some good. So before heading into the city center, I requested we make a pit stop. What greeted me was a teeny yet welcoming place, stylish with hip furniture and thoughtful details that pulled everything together in a fresh way. The Juice Factory’s slogan? A mouthful of love. Time would soon prove this true.

Also proven true? The difficulty of having to make a decision! There were too many enticing options to choose from! Though there are 18 in all, here are a few that caught my eye:
Doc Hollywood: Apple, Celery, Ginger
Iron Lady: Apple, Spinach, Pineapples
Holly Holler: Elderberry Juice, Strawberries, Banana
Hunny Bunny: Apple, Carrot, Orange
I ended up choosing the Golden Girl with Apple, Carrot, and Ginger.

A few sips in, and I knew I’d just found a new little (not too guilty) pleasure. SO delicious. SO fresh. SO going to become a habit of mine when heading in town near Schottentor. Oh and by the way, if hunger strikes, they’ve got you covered with ciabattas and muffins too!
So go if you’re healthy. Go if you’re sick. Just go.

It’s a mouthful of love, not happiness
lol. and the funny thing is I speak German! brain fart:)
Maybe for you it’s happiness and this is super fine also!
Oh and by the way, I love your articles and the funny way in which you recommend places – I’m since June last year here in Vienna and I don’t really speak German that well so that your blog is exactly the thing I need for my going outs (especially since I try to eat as healthy as possible and apparently you keep finding these nice places!)
Just felt like it’s the right occasion to tell you these.
So, please don’t stop!
Thank you so so much for finding this, I wanted such a place here in Vienna ever since I was in California (I even considered opening my own
)
Sounds great! I need to start getting into the first district more, since it’s so close, and now I have a perfect excuse! In the absence of a Jamba Juice, I’m sure I’ll love this place. And you said there’s a fro-yo place in town, too? I might die.
You’ve picked a great time to move to Vienna:) SO many yummy places to discover!
Felt the same way about froyo and now this!!! thanks for sharing
